Function First

Function First

The charm of design lies in breaking expectations.

This helmet isn’t “beautiful.”
It’s even a little awkward — a standard safety helmet combined with the brim of a straw hat.

But the reason it exists carries more truth than any polished form.
The sun was too strong, so he reassembled “regulation” and “need” into a version that actually works for him.

This isn’t innovation in appearance.
It’s a direct response to reality — to a human being under the sun, doing his job.

Design is not about making things prettier.
It’s about making life more livable.

Sometimes you’re not redesigning the object itself.
You’re redesigning how people understand its purpose.

And often, the most genuine creativity hides quietly in moments like this.
